{Double Date: Greenville Ave.}

New York/New Jersey, Dallas, Seattle, Dallas, Boston, Dallas.
Annnnnd done.
It’s been 3 weeks of marathon travel.  Some for fun, some for work – regardless Pete and I have been missing our home and our friends, so it seemed only fitting to get out of house on Friday and let someone else pay for our A/C for the night.

We met up with our friends Angela & Bryan to enjoy some time exploring the ever-growing Lower Greenville to enjoy some grub and drinks.

{HG Supply Co.} provided real (and delicious) food with a beet-infused tequila cocktail.  Oh, and there was a “sunset toast” for the whole restaurant at 6:30pm.  Don’t miss it…it was awesome.

Orlando Vacation: {Day 3 – Epcot}

Exhaustion.

It had set in but regardless of heavy eyes and leaden legs we were at Epcot before the gates opened standing it throngs of sleepy kids and cranky parents.  We were there when the grand announcement was made and confetti bombs went off exactly at 8:00am for one reason only – Soarin’.

I had stood in line for 2 hours for Soarin’ before.  While it’s an awesome ride, I’d be a sucker if I fell for that mess again.  It was #1 on the list of things to do that day and I had every intention of marking it off before 8:10am.

We sprinted past the GGB (Giant Golf Ball [not the official name]) and made it straight into the front row for the first round of Soarin’ spectators that day.  Victory is mine!  And as we walked off the ride we heard a passerby remark that they were already out of Fast Passes for the entire day.  VICTORY IS MINE AGAIN!

{Homemade Minced Garlic}

Elephant garlic is ginormous (thus the name, I suppose).  It’s one of those fun foods we discover through our co-op.  Organic and grown in Texas we were thrilled to find out we’d be getting garlic in our next share.  But that was 2 months ago…

Turns out Pete and I were kind of at a loss of what to do after receiving three of these bad boys.

Garlic lasts forever, yes, but when one clove is the size below you could succeed in keeping a town of vampires at bay and put garlic in every dish for a year. Continue reading

Throwback Thursday: {Seattle}

Pete have one primary theme on our pre-kids bucket list: TRAVEL!

There are so many amazing places in the country and in the world, I just can’t live with myself knowing I haven’t explored as much of it as possible.  I, luckily, had the opportunity to live in the Pacific Northwest for my early childhood.  So, when my parents decided to move back to Seattle the day after my wedding (“leaving and cleaving” in the most literal terms), I knew Pete and I had to get up there ASAP.

Fast forward to February 2013 – It’s freezing, foggy, rainy and freakin’ perfect!  What isn’t there to love about this place?
Amazing food, fantastic wine, good vibes, lovely people, beautiful scenery.  Pinch me now, I must be in heaven!

After Pete and my dad spent an evening skiing while my mom and I enjoyed delicious Thai food, we…
