{Double Date: Greenville Ave.}

New York/New Jersey, Dallas, Seattle, Dallas, Boston, Dallas.
Annnnnd done.
It’s been 3 weeks of marathon travel.  Some for fun, some for work – regardless Pete and I have been missing our home and our friends, so it seemed only fitting to get out of house on Friday and let someone else pay for our A/C for the night.

We met up with our friends Angela & Bryan to enjoy some time exploring the ever-growing Lower Greenville to enjoy some grub and drinks.

{HG Supply Co.} provided real (and delicious) food with a beet-infused tequila cocktail.  Oh, and there was a “sunset toast” for the whole restaurant at 6:30pm.  Don’t miss it…it was awesome.

{Lakewood Brewery}

The sultry magic of {Lakewood’s} “Temptress” first touched my lips at our afternoon excursion to {Chefs for Farmers}.
After visiting the beer maker’s tent filled with cool-bearded men and fantastic beers we knew that visiting the brewery was on our 2014 “must-dos” in Dallas.

We arrived 15 minutes before the “tour” began at the Garland-based brewery to a line out the door.  After a short wait, ID check and $10 admission fee we were allowed entrance into their official tasting room.  Although it radiates a “you should drink beer here” vibe it’s small and there’s no time to mingle and enjoy the aesthetics in the cramped space.  We followed the line out into their warehouse where there’s a total of 2 picnic tables, a girl playing guitar and about every other beer drinker in Dallas.

Throwback Thursday: {My 24th Birthday}

YAYYYY!!!
So glad to have escaped year #23 (and successfully done so for the last month).  This is not for the obvious “23’s a weird year” or “ugh, this year was such a drag” kind of reasons.
No, I’m mostly pumped because I’m glad to be an even number again.
Shallow and OCD.  No shame.

Peter planned a wonderful evening filled with all the things I love: food, drinks, music and new adventures.

IMG_1572Yes, I know I already posted this picture.  BUT…we got dressed up and went out somewhere.  This is always double-post worthy.  At this point in the evening I have no clue what’s happening.  Pete has an affinity for surprises that the control-freak in me loathes but knows I’m supposed to appreciate.  But every time he does this, I loathe it a little less.  🙂

We arrived at {Mockingbird Station} for our surprise pre-activity dinner.  I’m a bit confused.  We’ve either seen and skipped over or have already eaten at every place here.  But good ‘ole Mockingbird had one more trick up her sleeve… Continue reading

Throwback Thursday: {Windsor, CA – Part I}

02-IMG_2006_3654

In August my grandparents celebrated their 60th anniversary.  Sixty years, y’all.  Intense and impressive.

They have spent the vast majority of their marriage in California so it seemed only fitting to enjoy the family’s company, great food, delicious wine and warm summer breeze in their home state.
And in the great spirit of celebration…we spent a week in northern Wine Country.  Heck. yes!

It seemed only fitting that Pete and I dedicate an entire day to wine.  That we did!
